Sometimes cry

drawing of a tear

Yes, cry, and cry also as a metaphor for all the things you aren’t ‘SUPPOSED’ to do, because you are a man, or a woman or a father or mother or an adult, or whatever.

There are many ways to live a life and if you spend too much time looking for or following rules someone else made to apply to ‘everybody’ you won't find out who you really are, nor how you want to live your life, you’ll just be an everybody.

To be clear, there is a place for rules, and rules work great for everybody, but they don’t always work well for you - this is up to you to figure out.

Practice how to cry at movie theaters. And you can wipe a tear away without anyone seeing (the original A Christmas Carol, and of course It’s A Wonderful Life are both good ones to try). Next step could be in-flight movies surrounded by strangers at 30,000 feet, another good place to let your emotions out through tears. The body wants to cry sad or joyful tears sometimes, so let it.

You don’t need to show or tell anyone if you don’t want to, but if you find someone you can cry to or with, that, is a happy thing.
